Young Professionals Autumn Meet & Greet – How To Thrive In A Remote World
October 8 @ 10:30 am – 11:15 am
Young professionals entered the workforce during one of the biggest workplace transformations in history. While remote and hybrid working offers us flexibility and freedom, they can also create barriers that previous generations didn’t have to navigate.
This session (via Teams) explores how we as young professionals can build successful careers in a digital-first world without sacrificing wellbeing, networking opportunities or professional growth. We’ll discuss the reality of building relationships through Teams calls, staying visible when you’re not in the office every day, and why some of the most valuable career opportunities still happen through human connection.
We’ll also tackle the less talked about challenges of remote working, including loneliness, imposter syndrome, digital fatigue and the impact these can have on confidence and productivity. Attendees will gain practical advice on maintaining good mental health, developing professional skills, growing their network and increasing their visibility within an organisation.
Most importantly, we’ll explore why face-to-face interactions, events, mentoring and informal conversations remain critical elements of career development, especially for professionals early in their careers. The session will share practical strategies for striking the right balance between enjoying the benefits of flexible working while ensuring you don’t miss out on the opportunities that often accelerate career growth.
Whether you’re new to the workplace or a few years into your career, you’ll leave with actionable insights to help you stand out, stay connected and thrive.
